#4) BASIC (NTV) C&V SURVEY — Not Tested or Verified Survey
The BASIC (NTV) Survey is a streamlined condition and valuation inspection intended for cash buyers or vessel owners when insurers or lenders require only a basic inspection with minimal systems testing and limited mechanical verification. This survey may be conducted in-water or out-of-water, depending on insurer requirements and vessel location, and focuses on the vessel’s general condition, safety items, and observable components at the time of inspection.
Starting at $25 per foot (LOA), plus travel if applicable.
–––––––––––––––––
#5) RIGGING / SAIL SURVEY (SAILBOATS)
This survey is intended for sailboats requiring an evaluation of rigging condition. It includes an inspection of standing and running rigging, mast, boom, chainplates, and deck hardware, with a visual assessment conducted from deck level. Findings are documented in a written report.
Starting at $14 per foot (LOA), plus travel if applicable.
–––––––––––––––––
#6) ENGINE COMPRESSION CHECK(S)
This service is used to evaluate internal engine condition through cylinder compression testing. Compression readings are recorded and reviewed to help identify potential internal wear or mechanical concerns.
Starting at $80+ for outboards, $125+ for small block gas engines, $175+ for big block gas engines, and $225+ for diesel engines.
–––––––––––––––––
#7) ENGINE OIL SAMPLING & ANALYSIS

#10) THERMAL IMAGING & DIGITAL BORE SCOPING
This service is used to identify hidden defects, abnormal heat patterns, and internal component conditions that are not visible during a standard visual inspection. Thermal imaging is applied to engines, electrical systems, exhaust components, and machinery under operating conditions to detect overheating, poor connections, restricted flow, or abnormal friction. Digital bore scoping is used to visually inspect internal engine components, cylinders, valves, pistons, gear housings, and other confined spaces without disassembly. A written report with findings and supporting images is provided.
Starting at $150 per service.
–––––––––––––––––
11.) CAPTAIN SERVICES – SEA TRIAL
This service provides licensed captain operation of the vessel during a sea trial to observe handling, maneuverability, and basic system performance under normal operating conditions. The sea trial is conducted to evaluate propulsion response, steering operation, throttle control, gear engagement, vessel trim, vibration, noise, and overall operational behavior at the time of testing. Engine and system observations are limited to visible indications, instrument readings, and alarms as displayed. Findings are documented as operational observations only and do not constitute performance guarantees or mechanical certification. A written summary of observations is provided.
Starting at $75 per hour.
IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE INFORMATION
TRAVEL & LOCATION CHARGES
Travel is billed for service locations outside of a 10-mile radius of our Kemah office located at the Kemah Boardwalk. Travel charges are calculated based on round-trip mileage from the Kemah office to the vessel location.
Travel is billed at $1.00 USD per mile, plus applicable tolls. No travel charge applies for locations within the initial 10-mile service radius. Travel charges will be disclosed in advance and included in the final quote where applicable.

SEA TRIAL REQUIREMENTS
Sea trials require adequate fuel, a functional vessel, and permission to operate. The owner, buyer, or seller is responsible for ensuring the vessel is prepared for operation. Additional sea trial time beyond the standard allowance is billed separately.
–––––––––––––––––
WAIT TIME & DELAYS
Wait time caused by vessel unavailability, access delays, late arrivals, marina or boatyard scheduling issues, weather holds, or other circumstances outside the surveyor’s control may be billed as additional time.
