Sailboat & Rigging Survey for Tampa vessels

Great River & Lakes – Marine Surveying Co. works with sailboat buyers and owners assessing a vessel and its accessible rig in Tampa, Florida. Our St. Petersburg office can arrange Tampa assignments based on the vessel location and schedule. The inspection and report are tailored to the vessel, the assignment and safe access on the agreed date.

Scope of the assignment

We examine accessible hull and deck areas, keel and rudder where visible, auxiliary machinery, chainplates and deck-level rigging. Aloft rigging and concealed fittings require a separate specialist or access arrangement. We record observations and recommendations within the agreed scope. Inaccessible spaces, concealed structure and equipment that cannot be safely operated are identified as limitations. Specialist diagnostics, oil analysis or destructive testing need separate arrangements.

Planning the inspection in Tampa

Tampa waterfront berths, the Hillsborough River and upper Tampa Bay call for different boarding and sea-trial plans. Confirm the marina or yard and access contact before scheduling. If a haul-out, sea trial or specialist is required, arrange it before selecting the inspection date. Yard lift fees and specialist charges are separate unless the written quote expressly includes them.

What to send us

Tell us the mast configuration, age of standing rigging, grounding history, haul-out plans and whether an aloft rigger will attend. Include the vessel’s year, make, model, length, exact location, access contact and desired date. Forward any insurer, lender or purchase-contract requirements and deadlines in writing so the proposed scope addresses them.

Your report

We confirm availability and scope before booking. The written report describes conditions observed at the inspection and notes material access limits. Recommendations may call for further evaluation by a qualified technician or yard. We do not guarantee future performance or an insurer’s or lender’s acceptance.

Common question

Is an aloft inspection included? A deck-level survey cannot establish upper rig condition. Arrange a qualified rigger if an aloft assessment is needed.
