Commercial Vessel Survey for Clearwater vessels
Great River & Lakes – Marine Surveying Co. works with commercial operators, buyers, lenders and underwriters in Clearwater, Florida. Our St. Petersburg office arranges Clearwater-area work subject to availability. The inspection and report are tailored to the vessel, the assignment and safe access on the agreed date.
Scope of the assignment
We define an inspection around the vessel’s service, accessible hull and machinery, installed systems, safety equipment and available records. A private survey does not replace a Coast Guard inspection or certificate. We record observations and recommendations within the agreed scope. Inaccessible spaces, concealed structure and equipment that cannot be safely operated are identified as limitations. Specialist diagnostics, oil analysis or destructive testing need separate arrangements.
Planning the inspection in Clearwater
Clearwater Beach Marina and Gulf-side waterways can require a yard lift or a separate sea-trial meeting point. Send the exact berth and confirm any marina access rules. If a haul-out, sea trial or specialist is required, arrange it before selecting the inspection date. Yard lift fees and specialist charges are separate unless the written quote expressly includes them.
What to send us
Send vessel particulars, operating area, passenger or workboat use, certificates, recent maintenance, and the requesting party’s written scope. Include the vessel’s year, make, model, length, exact location, access contact and desired date. Forward any insurer, lender or purchase-contract requirements and deadlines in writing so the proposed scope addresses them.
Your report
We confirm availability and scope before booking. The written report describes conditions observed at the inspection and notes material access limits. Recommendations may call for further evaluation by a qualified technician or yard. We do not guarantee future performance or an insurer’s or lender’s acceptance.
Common question
Does this issue a COI? No. A Coast Guard Certificate of Inspection is issued through the responsible authority; our survey documents the agreed private inspection.
